Color story

Black, gray and white being major colors in Chanel and complimentary being the major color scheme are irrefutable. But Karl Largerfeld has brought a few of vivid color into Chanel since 2001. So colorful hue in saturation contrast and saturation constant, analogic color scheme, analogic complimentary color scheme, Triadic color scheme has also been brought into Chanel collection.Vary in color enhance the Chanel color hormony and is a breakthrough for a old brand. It put Chanel to the further stage and spread the market on all ladies and woman.

Althought vivid color exist in the collection, the elegant of Chanel collection did not weaken. The reason is that Karl Lagerfeld makes good use of different values of color that he just use few bright (primary and secondary) colors while use a lot of tertiary(tints, shades and tones) color as sateration contrast. The higher chroma of colors are more elegant and high class and dull colors are also of this feeling.

In conclusion, Chanel collections do not just consist od 2-3 colors(black, white and gray). Up till now, The colors in colloction are various as their cosnetics.

Assignment of store layout printing

I use various level chroma of blue(cool color) as the background to form a contrast to merchandises which mainly are in red, yellow and green(warm color).
Also, it can emphasize the merchandises in store and vary in colors can increase the color harmony and catch visitor's eyes.
The saturation contrast (the various levels of fullness in blue) enhances the sense of layer and spacious in sight.

Triadic color scheme

The traditional Chanel color,black and white, are still the core of these designs as all of which are for fall to winter season. However Karl Lagerfeld picked a few of color pink and green into the collection, which two colors are located in the opposite side on the color wheel. Also, although these two colors are in contrast, they present the harmony as they are in similar hues and values.

Black, white, and gray are still are the core of the Chanel collection, although green and pink were added in this collection. As the tones green and tints pink are the Saturation constant to the white and back
